There are a couple of reasons why I love LUSH cosmetics, the main beeing the fresh and natural feel of LUSH products. Many of the products look like something you might be able to mix in your kitchen, their smell is so distinctive, that you either love it or hate it and when I use them I feel like I do something good for my body.
Recently I've been to LUSH and I've got some new products I haven't tested before. And then I went back and got some more :-). The good part of my LUSH-o-mania was, that after every purchase I was allowed to choose from some goodie-bags and ended up with free stuff worth 67 Euros. Yay :-)! I couldn't choose the products in the bags, but this way I've got some things I probably wouldn't normally look at twice and who knows if there isn't my future favorite ;-)?
The one thing I've repurchased - and this is my probably fourth pot so far - is a face mask called Love Lettuce, which I LOVE. It's a mask looking like a green muddy paste and containing lavender oil, almond oil, honey and some other stuff. The LUSH-website says: "Love Lettuce is a wonderful lavender scented, rich green exfoliating mask for normal to oily skins. We make it with an infusion of nutritious agar seaweed, balancing lavender oil and chlorophyll to control your skin's oil production and china clay to penetrate the skin and absorb the dirt you've picked up from the atmosphere. As you wash it off, the ground almonds and almond shells gently remove dead skin cells to give you a fresh-from-the-market-garden look (and scent)."
This mask really works wonderfully. I just put in on my fase, wait for ten minutes and then rinse it off with warm water, while using the abbrasive texture of the mask to get rid of all the dead cells which make skin look dull. After this treatment, my skin is perfectly soft and fresh-feeling/looking. My skin is more on the dry side and it works great for me, even though it says that it's good for controlling skin oils - so something for oilier skin types.
This is - hands down - my favorite face mask of all times :-).
The one thing that bothers me a little about this mask (there aaalways has to be something... :-) is, that since it's made from fresh ingredients and has to be kept in the fridge, it only lasts for three weeks. I mean, there is enough product in the pot for at least six applications (my experience), but the mask is recommended to be used up in up to three weeks from the production date.
All in all, I can't recommend it highly enough :-).
I have some more LUSH products to talk about, but that's a matter of another post..., or two :-).
Have a great week! :-)
